Begun in early 1997, the Ocala/Marion County Veterans Memorial Park is dedicated to veterans of all services and all wars, from 1610 to the present time. The 8.5 acre park presents numerous specially designed areas related to World War II. Notable among them are memorials recognizing the Greenville Aviation School, Medal of Honor Awardees, Merchant Mariners, veterans of specific European and Pacific engagements, and countless other veterans and engagements.

Staffed by dedicated volunteers, the park annually hosts Veterans Day and Memorial Day commemorative activities.
