Current Volunteer Opportunities

Visitor Services
All of our sites need friendly individuals to greet, orient, and direct visitors when they first arrive at the museum. If you are social and amicable, your services would be greatly appreciated.

Museum Ambassador
If you have an outgoing personality and like to network, we would love to have you represent our sites by getting out into the community and promoting programs to local organizations, and at community functions.

Researcher
If you love history and enjoy exploring books and archives, we need your help. The Museum of Florida History and the Knott House Museum can use volunteers to research and write for guide books and tour manuals.

Docent
All three sites require volunteers to give short introductions and/or conduct tours. If you enjoy learning and sharing knowledge with others, you could be a great asset to our team.

Educational Program Specialist
If you enjoy working with children, we are looking for help presenting our exciting new school programs at the Museum of Florida History.

Educational Program Developer
If you are a creative individual, you could be a valuable asset to the initial design and implementation of educational programs for both adults and children.

Office Assistant
All three sites are currently seeking organized individuals to assist with office work. If you are interested in learning computer programs, all three sites can use your help with recordkeeping, data entry, and answering phones.

Design & Fabrication Assistant
If you are creative, enjoy building things, and/or have computer-based design and web skills, you could be a great asset to our Design & Fabrication team.

Collections Assistant
Do you enjoy cataloguing and data entry? If so, our Collections section is always looking for assistance managing records.

Special Events Assistant
If you would like to volunteer but don't have a great deal of time to dedicate, we can still use your help for seasonal and special events at all three of our sites. You can also check for other ongoing events such as workshops, exhibit openings, day camps, scout groups, and family programming.
