3rd Thursdays at the Museum of Florida History

Always the same day, always a great party!

Mark your calendar to unwind at the Museum of Florida History on the 3rd Thursday of every month.

5:00 - 8:00 p.m.

A palette for all your senses, 3rd Thursday is a great way to experience Florida history. Come and listen to great live music, meet local artists, mingle with an eclectic mix of people, and enjoy cultural happenings in Tallahassee.

The evening's program, music, and parking are free. A local restaurant caters the food for $10 per person for members and $15 per person for nonmembers. Each month highlights a different theme. Florida's History Shop is also open until 8:00 p.m.

The Program begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Museum Theatre.

3rd Thursday
Dr. Keith Holland will speak about the discovery and excavation of the Maple Leaf ship that sank during the Civil War in the St. Johns River. Mary and Bob Cox will entertain with old-time folk music, and food will be catered for a fee by Tropical Smoothie. 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Program is at 7:00 p.m. Program and parking are free.

3rd Thursday
In conjunction with the new Civil War exhibit, nautical archaeologists Billie Ray and Nicole Morris describe their six-year research on the Civil War shipwrecks Scottish Chief, Kate Dale, and Narcissus. Live music will be provided by a local band, and Marinated Mushroom will cater the food for purchase. Guests can also tour the exhibit, "Ships, Sailors, and Shipwrecks of Civil War Florida." 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Program is at 7:00 p.m. Program and parking are free.

3rd Thursday
Dr. Sam Turner of the St. Augustine Lighthouse Archaeological Maritime Program (LAMP) talks about an ongoing project to locate the Confederate privateer Jefferson Davis featured in a documentary in the exhibit at 7:00 p.m. Music will be provided by the Harvest Gypsies. Food will be catered by Up In Smoke Bar-be-que and can be purchased by members for $10 and nonmembers for $15. The program and parking are free. 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Museum.

The opening of the 31 Annual Capital City Quilt Show. 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Reception. Free.
