Edith Toffaletti (1915–2000) of Tampa was part of the first class to graduate from the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) Officer Candidate School in 1942. She joined the Air Force after its creation in 1947 and retired as a lieutenant colonel in 1966.
