- Creature from the Black Lagoon has become one of the classic monster movies of the film industry. The success of this movie and its two sequels helped save Universal Studios from bankruptcy in the mid-1950s. Ricou Browning of Tallahassee was one of the two stunt men who played the Creature. He later worked with Ivan Tors on the television show Sea Hunt and co-wrote the story, Flipper.
