- Kurt Russell appears as Malcolm Anderson, a reporter for a Miami newspaper. Anderson decides to give up his job to run a small town newspaper. Before he leaves, though, he is contacted by a serial killer who says he plans to kill again. Anderson decides to stay and follow the story. Much of the movie is filmed in the Miami Herald newsroom.
